Melaka... Taman Rama-Rama

During our last visit to Melaka we surprised ourselves with a visit to the Taman Rama-Rama, or Butterfly Park. This turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. The sanctuary is beautifully landscaped and has become much more than a butterfly park with the addition of a wide range of avian and reptilian species and koi fish.

The highlight, of course, is the butterfly enclosure which houses many species, including the Yellow Glassy Tiger, the Plain Tiger, the Magpie Crow, Malayan Lacewing, the Common Rose and the Great Orange Tip. There appear to be thousands of these beautiful creatures fluttering around you as you make your way along the enclosure path.

A stroll through the park will necessitate at least an hour as you take in all the birds, animals and fish, enjoying the lovely gardens as you pass through.
